Public schools have the responsibility identify, locate, and evaluate any student who need special education and also those who have needs in their general education classroom. Child Find (also often referred to as General Education Intervention (GEI )or Student Intervention Teaming (SIT)) requires each school district to have systems in place to identify and support these student needs. This workshop will help staff define and understand the purpose of general education intervention, better understand the role of general education interventions in the special education evaluation process, and to build capacity with your teams and grow in knowledge in GEI.
