A Fresh Look at Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Support Planning – Girard

Join us for a comprehensive full-day workshop designed to equip educators with advanced strategies for understanding and addressing student behavior. In this workshop, we will delve deeper, moving beyond surface-level observations of what a child is trying to “get or avoid.” Instead, we will focus on assessing the underlying skills that require development. We will explore the efficacy of brain-based, skill-focused Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Support Plans (BSP) in navigating the complex impacts of trauma and neurodiversity. By comparing these innovative approaches with traditional models, we will uncover their superiority in addressing the diverse needs of students. Participants will gain insights into processes for assessing and planning proactive regulation strategies. These strategies are crucial components of supporting students and making them more accessible for intervention. Our aim is to empower educators with tools to foster environments conducive to growth and learning for every child.
