2024.25 ESOL Forum
November 19 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am
The English Speakers of Other Languages Forum provides virtual sessions designed to foster a network of support, access valuable resources, and professional growth among ESOL leaders and teachers in Kansas. Meeting the needs of students classified as English Learners and their families is continuously dynamic. To be successful in this (at times, lonesome) role, it is essential that ESOL Leaders have a continuous connection with colleagues across the state. The purpose of the Greenbush ESOL Forum is to serve as the central hub for facilitating these connections, enabling the sharing of best practices, and ensuring that all stay abreast of the latest developments from the Kansas Department of Education. With a focus on the ‘how’ and hot topics within our and the larger ESOL community, our forum will equip and connect participants with the tools and resources needed to traverse the unique circumstances of ELs and uplift the assets they bring – ensuring learning for all. Exchange valuable insights and join a network of leaders to maneuver challenges and capitalize on opportunities for improvement.
Topics include but are not limited to the following:
- KSDE Reporting & Compliance
- Welcoming & Integrating ELs into School Communities
- Exploring OELA Toolkits/Resources
- ELs & the Science of Reading
- ELs & Special Education
- KELPA
- Scheduling ELs
- Individual Language Plans
- and more!
Cost: Free for All!
Be sure to register for each session, every month will be unique.
